However, the savings you get compared with using gas may be worth it. Among younger kids, getting a gas powered scooter may be impractical.

Check the tires, the brakes and overall construction of the unit. It should be strong enough to hold the child. Go over the tires carefully and make sure they are still in good condition. Do not allow the child to use a scooter with sharp edges.
You can save money by going online and looking for cheaper but quality models there. Buying online isn’t just cost effective; it is also much easier.
